The
Fayetteville Public Works Commission invites the public to visit the
Cape Fear Botanical Gardens free of charge during the month of April.
The Gardens, located at 536 N. Eastern Boulevard, is home to the "At
Home in Carolina" Water Wise Demonstration Garden. The Water Wise
Garden is located behind the farmhouse and demonstrates that water efficient
landscaping can be achieved without sacrificing beauty.
The Garden has examples of grass, plants, flowers, mulching and irrigation
techniques that are suitable for our region and climate. The public
is encouraged to visit the Garden and incorporate "water wise"
gardening in their landscaping this spring.
Free admission during April does not apply to staff-guided tours of
the Botanical Gardens.
For information on the Cape Fear Botanical Gardens hours of operations
contact the garden at 486-0221. For water conservation tips, visit PWC
on the web at www.faypwc.com.
