The PWC Board has approved a new Customer Assistance Program to replace the existing Project Warmth. The new program Project People Who Care will provide year-round assistance for PWC electric customers and will continue to be administered by the Salvation Army. Previously Project Warmth made financial assistance available only during the winter months when customers may experience a financial crisis related to high electric bills from the cold weather. Through this project, PWC customers provide donations that will be used to assist area residents in need with the payment of their electricity bills. Customers add the donation to their monthly PWC bill and PWC makes the donations available to the Salvation Army to distribute to PWC customers who are in need. In addition to expanding the program to make financial assistance available all year, new features of the program will also include new contribution options for Bank Draft customers and a PWC employee contribution plan.
