PWC Employees Reach Safety Milestone
Work One Million Hours with No Lost Time Accidents

Employees of the Public Works Commission reached a safety milestone on September 27, 2002 as they completed over one million work hours with no lost-time accidents. PWC’s last lost-time accident was November 6, 2001. The milestone marks the third time in PWC’s history that PWC employees have reached the one million hour mark.

Over the last 10 years, PWC employees have worked over 13 million hours. PWC has been recognized for Safety Achievement by the North Carolina Dept. of Labor for 14 consecutive years and by the American Power Public Association for 12 consecutive years. PWC’s total accident cost went down 28 percent in the fiscal year 2001-2002.
