New
outdoor watering schedules have been established for PWC water customers
to better manage our community's water use, prevent high peaks of water
use, and take proactive measures to prevent future water crisis.
Each year from May 1 through September 30, all PWC water customers are
required to follow the revised Odd/Even watering schedules as outlined
in the City of Fayetteville's Water Shortage Response Ordinance.
Customers with street addresses ending in an even number (0,2,4,6,8) may
water on Monday,
Wednesday,
and Saturday. If your street address ends in an odd number (1,3,5,7,9)
you may water on Tuesday, Thursday, and Sunday.
Watering schedules apply to irrigation systems and other sprinkler devices
only. Watering by hand is allowed on any day of the week. The required
schedules apply only to outdoor watering for grass, shrubbery, trees,
flowers and vegetable gardens. It does not apply to other outdoor water
use, such as washing cars or pressure washing.
Customers are reminded to be water wise and follow mandatory watering
schedules; however, they are not required to water on all allowable days.
