Employees of the Fayetteville Public Works Commission
have been recognized for outstanding safety practices by the
North Carolina Department of Labor and the North Carolina American
Water Works Association.
The Department of Labor recently presented a Certificate
of Special Recognition to the Employees of the Butler-Warner
Generation Plant for reaching the milestone of One Million Employee
Hours worked with no disabling injuries. The last lost-time
injury at the facility occurred in 1989.
PWC was the recipient of the 2005 NC American
Water Works Association's Walter J. Courman Safety Award in
recognition of the Excellence of PWCs Active and Effective
Safety Program and Safety Record. The NCAWWA presented the award
to the staff of the PWC Water Treatment Facilities at the annual
meeting held in November.
