Sewer Installation Begins in LaGrange Neighborhood

Installation of sanitary sewer services in the LaGrange and Morganton Place neighborhoods is scheduled to begin the week of August 20, 2007. The work area falls west of Reilly Road and south of Cliffbourne Dr. and Jennings Dr. and has been divided into 2 projects.

Fayetteville PWC has contracted with ES&J Enterprises, Inc. of Autryville to install sanitary sewer services to approximately 300 residents on the eastern side of project area, or areas east of Lovington Dr., Keller Dr., and Golf Dr. This work is estimated to be complete in May 2008.

Work on the western side of the project area (west of Lovington Dr., Keller Dr., and Golf Dr.) will install 169 sanitary sewer services and is scheduled to begin in September 2007. Contractor selection for the western side will soon be finalized and work is expected to be complete in June 2008.

During the first month of construction the following streets are scheduled for installation: Paddlewheel Drive (175-198, 201-230).View construction schedule

LaGrange is a part of Project 1 of Phase 5 Annexation utility installation. Project 1 involves the LaGrange and Brentwood neighborhoods. The project will install sanitary sewer services to over 1,100 homes and is estimated to cost $11 million. Two local engineering and design firms: Moorman, Kizer & Reitzel, Inc. and McKim & Creed P.A. have designed the installation improvements for Project 1. The Project has been divided into five areas and will be constructed separately.
