PWC Special Projects | Learn more about PWC’s sewer main re-lining project

Monday, October 31, 2016 – June 2017: Hydrostructures, PA, an approved PWC contractor, will begin cleaning sanitary sewer mains and performing CCTV inspections in various locations throughout our service area. Work activities are expected to continue through June 2017.

May 2017:  Insituform, an approved PWC contractor, will be working in the Gillespie Street to Campbell Avenue area, performing sewer main rehabilitation on an existing 36-inch sewer main.  During the project, periodic lane closures will be necessary on Gillespie Street, Cool Spring Street, and Campbell Avenue.  In Cool Spring Street and Campbell Avenue, plates will be installed over the manholes, to facilitate the lining process.

Motorists are advised to use caution in this area, throughout the construction period.  Pedestrians will also be impacted, as there will be a temporary sewer bypass system in place.  This bypass system will have pipes running along the road (and crossing the road in some places), as the sewer will be pumped around the project area.  A road ramp will be in place at Alfred Street, to allow traffic to safely cross over the bypass lines.  Access to driveways will be maintained.

Monday May 15, 2017 – June 15, 2017: NCDOT will be close the eastbound lanes of Bragg Blvd. from West Rowan Street to Rowan Street. This closure is in conjunction with a sewer line relocation that is part of NCDOT’s Rowan Street Bridge project. The closure is anticipated to last until June 15th. NCDOT’s contractor ST Wooten will perform the work.

Saturday, May 20, 2017 – Sunday, May 21, 2017: Mechanical Jobbers, an approved PWC contractor, is scheduled to perform manhole rehab work on Grove Street near the the B Street intersection. Lane closures will take place between the hours of 7am-4pm each day.
