David Faircloth Named Water Operator of the Year

David Faircloth of the Fayetteville Public Works Commission has been named the North Carolina Waterworks Operators Associations’ (NCWOA) 2020 A-Surface Operator of the Year.

Faircloth has 10 years of experience in water treatment and has been with PWC since 2014.  Prior to PWC, he started his career with the City of Dunn.  Faircloth has a two-year degree from the NCSU Ag Institute and has several certifications, including A-Surface and Grade II Physical /Chemical.

“This achievement is a testament to David’s work ethic and dedication he shows while performing his craft,” said Jason Green, PWC Water Treatment Facility Operations Supervisor. “David has a high degree of initiative and makes sound operational changes to ensure our water treatment goals are met each day while ensuring regulatory compliance. He deserves the recognition on this award provides, and I am proud to have him as my employee.”

PWC annually treats over 10 billion gallons of drinking water that serve the needs of over 225,000 residents in Cumberland County.  PWC is a member of the Partnership for Safe Drinking Water and for 20 consecutive years, the recipient of the Partnerships’ Director’s Award for outstanding commitment to quality drinking water treatment
