Standard-size dishwashers that have earned the ENERGY STAR® label are, on average, 12% more energy efficient than standard models. For added savings, make sure the dishes are scraped clean, run a full load, and use a water saver or quick cycle when appropriate. If you don’t mind drying your dishes or waiting until they air dry, you can turn off the heat dry cycle. For additional savings, use the calculator below to see the savings when you shift dishwasher use from on-peak to off-peak hours.
