Join PWC for Sustainable Saturday
Join PWC and Sustainable Sandhills for the screening of “Chasing Ice”, a documentary by acclaimed environmental photographer James Balog. While on assignment for National Geographic to capture images to tell the story of the Earth’s changing climate, Balog’s mission became to change the tide of history by gathering undeniable evidence of our changing plant. His videos compress years into seconds and capture ancient mountains of ice in motion as they disappear at a breathtaking rate. Chasing Ice depicts a photographer trying to deliver evidence and hope to our carbon-powered planet. Chasing Ice has won over 43 awards at film festivals around the world including Best Documentary Award at the Sundance Film Festival.
Sustainable Saturday will be held on April 20th at the Cameo Art House Theatre (225 Hay Street) from 11:00am-1:00pm.
Admission to “Chasing Ice” is free and attendees will receive a free tree seedling* courtesy of PWC’s Tree Power program. Trees remove CO2 from the atmosphere and tree planting has been shown to be a viable way to offset carbon emissions.
