Commissioner Wade R. Fowler, Jr.
Wade R. Fowler, Jr. was appointed to PWC’s Board of Commissioners in October 2014. He was appointed to a second term in October 2018. He served as Chairman in 2017-18.
After serving in the United States Air Force as a jet pilot for more than eight years, Fowler began a career in sales. During a career spanning nearly 30 years, Fowler spent time in personnel sales before joining Pfizer Pharmaceuticals. After 18 years of service at Pfizer, Fowler retired as a member of the Pfizer Sales Hall of Fame. He is currently co-owner of Fowler’s Southern Gourmet restaurant.
A Fayetteville native, Fowler is an elder at Church of the Open Door and a member of the Cape Fear Grange Service Organization. He volunteered at Fayetteville Area Operation Inasmuch for more than five years, serving breakfast to those in need, and represented District 8 on the Fayetteville City Council from 2011-2013. Fowler graduated from Terry Sanford High School in 1971 and went on to earn his B.A. degree in history from UNC Chapel Hill in 1975. He and his wife, Kim, have six children and three grandchildren.
