PWC Provides Drinking Water to Ft. Bragg

June 16, 2010

Thanks to a collaborative effort with departments in the Water Resources Division, PWC began pumping drinking water to Ft. Bragg on June 16, 2010.  PWC partnered with Harnett County to supply on average 400 million gallons daily (MGD) with the capacity of 800 MGD maximum flow.  Although this project has been in the works for a while, it is now complete.

“It has been a long time coming . . . but for now everything is working smoothly,” said Joe Glass, PWC’s Water Resources Engineering Manager.  “Getting to this point has taken a great deal of internal coordination and those involved have worked well together in making it happen.”

Mick Noland, PWC’s Chief Operations Officer for the Water Resources Division, commended all those who worked so closely together to make this a successful project.  “There were so many people involved in pulling this off I’m not even going to try to name everyone, but if you were involved, thank you for your efforts and diligence,” he said.  “Ft. Bragg will be an important customer for many years to come and service to the military base is of strategic importance to the long term financial stability of PWC.  Job well done!”
