PWC Employees Recognized by United Way

PWC has been recognized by the United Way of North Carolina  as 2018 recipients of the  Spirit of North Carolina Award  and the Excellence in Community Spirit Award.

PWC was one of 33 companies that received the  Spirit of North Carolina Award and one of just five recipients that received the  Excellence in Community Spirit Award for efforts the judges felt exceeded the Spirit of North Carolina standards.

On a yearly basis, United Way of North Carolina recognizes organizations who have succeeded in raising funds to support their community and have dedicated themselves to being part of the long-term solution to build stronger communities.  Judges from across North Carolina reviewed more than 50 applications to select winners who were honored in Pinehurst at the Spirit of North Carolina Award Lunch in February.

“The Spirit of North Carolina Award recognizes the collaborative partnerships the United Way of Cumberland County builds with its supporters,” said Robert Hines, President of the United Way of Cumberland County.  “PWC is a strong community partner and we are so proud that they have been recognized as one of the premier community supporters in the state.”

“PWC has received  the Spirit  of North Carolina Award 13 times and no other organization in the state has achieved this level of excellence,” said Hines. “ Year in and year out, we know we have PWC’s support and that has a significant impact on our community.”

In 2018,  PWC employees pledged over $130,000 to the annual United Way campaign and had 99% participation in the campaign.  Throughout the year, employees are active volunteers and supporters of the United Way’s efforts including serving as United Way Board members and members of the Community Impact Committee.  PWC’s also has Cumberland County’s highest number of Leadership Givers ($1,000+) and annually supports the Days of Caring with volunteers and resources. 

In addition to the United Way of North Carolina Awards,  PWC also received the United Way of Cumberland County’s Chairman’s Award (500+ employees), Marquis Award (Most leadership givers), Employee Campaign Manager of the Year award and Mark Brown, PWC’s Senior Customer Programs and member of the United Way Board of Directors , was named as the United Way Volunteer of the Year.
