PWC Workers Celebrate 4th Annual Wastewater Professional’s Day

PWC recognizes Wastewater Professional’s Day on August 12 to honor the employees who help protect public health, support reliable wastewater service, and safeguard Fayetteville’s waterways.
PWC’s wastewater professionals work around the clock to keep sewer mains flowing, operate and maintain critical infrastructure, respond to service needs, and ensure the wastewater is properly treated before returning to the Cape Fear River.
Their work is essential to the daily quality of life for residents, businesses, and the surrounding environment. “Wastewater professionals perform demanding, essential work that often happens behind the scenes but has a direct impact on the community every day,” said Timothy Bryant, CEO/General Manager of Fayetteville PWC. “Their commitment helps keep PWC’s wastewater system operating safely and reliably while protecting the Cape Fear River and the environment we all share.”
PWC maintains more than 2,979 miles of water and wastewater infrastructure and 79 sanitary sewer lift stations. PWC’s two wastewater treatment facilities are capable of treating 46 million gallons of wastewater each day before returning it to the Cape Fear River.
PWC invites the community to join in thanking the dedicated wastewater professionals who work in treatment facilities, laboratories, and field operations to protect the ecological health of Fayetteville’s waterways.
