Commercial EV Charging

Businesses are starting to add public charging stations as an added value for their customers and employees.  Most EV owners will take the opportunity to top off their charge while away from home and installing Emission Vehicle Supply Equipment (EVSE) on your business premises may give you a competitive edge.

PWC offers an optional Whole Business rate that features a super Off-Peak rate daily from 9:00 p.m.-5:00 a.m.  Customers who sign up for the rate, pay a higher basic facility charge and On-Peak rate and their super Off-Peak rate is 47% lower than Off-Peak rates.  You can see which rate may benefit your business by using our EV Rate Calculator and call 910-483-1382 to speak with a PWC representative to request to participate in our Whole Business electric rate if you’d like to opt in.

There’s Super Off-Peak rate for all Small Power customers or a Medium Coincident Peak rate for Medium Power customers with demand over 150kW. These optional rates may be beneficial to businesses or multi-family units with managed Level 2 EV charging or if you have public, workplace, or fleet-managed EV charging. Please contact ev@faypwc.com if you are interested in PWC’s Whole Business rate or want to see if you qualify for PWC’s optional Medium Coincident Peak rate.

There are two different types of charging that are typically available at businesses or to the general public:

Level 2 (L2)

  • Uses an installed outlet on a 208-240 Volt, 40 Amp circuit.
  • On average, adds 20-30 miles of range per hour, depending on the vehicle.
  • Good option for businesses looking to provide charging as part of their customer experience.

Level 3 (L3)

  • Uses a 480-Volt circuit and is commonly referred to as DCFAST or DCFC.
  • Charges at the fastest rate; most long-range EVs can achieve 80-100% charge in 20-60 minutes depending on charger output.
  • Ideal for locations along high traffic routes.

Depending on the type of charging and the number of ports available, an EV charging electric service may fall under either the Whole Business or Medium Coincident Peak rate. Review PWC EV Rates for details and contact ev@faypwc.com with any additional questions.
