Commissioner Christopher Davis

Pastor Christopher (Chris) G. Davis was sworn in to the PWC Board on Mar. 8, 2023, and will serve as Treasurer during fiscal year 2023.

Davis is a retired U.S. Army Engineer Officer and served as a member of the Fayetteville City Council representing District 6, from 2019-2022.  He has also served as Chair of the City Planning Commission and Vice Chair of the Joint Appearance Commission, and Teen Court Judge for Cumberland County.  He is presently an Adjunct Instructor at Methodist University, where he teaches Leadership and Youth Ministry Leadership. In 2023, he was appointed to the North Carolina Board of Science, Technology, and Innovation as a Member at Large.

Davis’ military service began in 1991, as an enlisted soldier for 11 years; he then attended the U.S, Army Officer Candidate School and received his commission in 2002 as a Second Lieutenant.  Throughout his military career he served as Platoon Leader, Company Executive Officer, Engineer Embedded Combat Trainer in support of OEF 2007-2008, and Company Commander of the 174th Route Clearance Company in support of OEF 2009-2010.

As a result of his leadership and service during his 2009-2010 OEF Deployment, the soldiers of his Company were awarded 16 Bronze Stars, 14 Purple Hearts, 6 ARCOMS w/Valor, 70 Close Combat Action Badges, and over 400 other Combat and Operational related awards.  Davis was personally awarded the Bronze Star and Purple Heart Medal for wounds sustained from IED blasts while leading route clearance operations in Marjah City.

Davis also spent six years with Siemens (Automotive VDO), where he worked in R&D, Product and Process Quality Engineering, and Supplier Quality Management. While employed by Siemens, he earned is Six Sigma Green Belt and traveled abroad as part of the company’s International Supplier Development Team.

A native of Orangeburg, S.C., he received a dual Bachelor of Science Degree in Physics and Chemistry, in 1999 from South Carolina State University. He received his M.A. in Leadership and Management from Webster University in May 2019 and is pursuing his D Min in Pastoral Leadership at Andersonville Theological Seminary. Davis is married and he and wife, Demetria, have five children.
